Heres a graph that makes me happy. It shows the increase of animals homed in Australia over the years via Pet Rescue.com.au
This means people are listening and rescuing pets that need homes. They have a goal of homing 1000 pets for christmas. Although I cannot adopt as my small townhouse barely holds Jonah my cat inside, I still donate to this not for profit organisiation.

This is great!
It is hard to try and REeducate a public, a society about the importance of adoption vs buying from a breeder.
Spay and Neuter programs need to be introduced on a larger scale along with veterinary staff volunteers to perform spay/neuter clinics to the low-income families who want to share their homes with a companion animal.
Education is paramount to increase adoption rates and perhaps to eliminate puppy mills and backyard breeders. This education will have to start with children for they are our future and everything must start fresh, through them!
This is wonderful. I love your caring attitude .
